ASA Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Tournament
This next weekend, Team NC Baylog heads to Roanoke, Virginia for play in the ASA Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Tournament, to be held May 2nd and 3rd. 100% of the proceeds go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and 17 teams are signed up for the age 14 team bracket alone. The team is looking forward to both the sporting competition and the support that the team will be contributing to a worthy nonprofit in their fight against Cystic Fibrosis.
Last weekend play was a last minute entry into the Top Gun Sports Spring Classic in Indian Trail, North Carolina when scheduled Carrollton Classic Tournament in Georgia was cancelled due to bad weather. The first day of the substitute competition, held on.
April 18th, ended with three for three victories of Team NC Baylog: 7-1 over Carolina Racers, 10-0 over the Lady Tigers Anders, and 5-2 over the Diamond Crushers. The one loss happened on the 19th of April and it was a close one, 3-4. All were thankful to Top Gun for fitting us into their schedule in a pinch.
NSA Louisville Slugger World Qualifier
Team NC Baylog played on March 30th at the NSA Louisville Slugger World Qualifier where they finished 4th overall. Always up for a challenge, the Baylog team lost to Hit-n-Run Select 3-2, in extra innings. Five wins and one other loss rounded out that faspitch softball tournament: loss 0-3 to UC Schock and wins as follows- 7-2 Chair City Untouchables, 2-1 Hit-n-Run, 9-1 Two Out Voodoo, 7-0 Carolina Strkers, 8-3 Charlotte Magic. The kickoff to the Team NC Baylog’s summer of 2015 play was a winner with the Baylog team taking home the championship at the NSA Western Carolina Kickoff tournament, held on March 21st. Team Baylog lost the first game then won the next 6 games in a row. Coach Bill Baylog said “They battled hard all day!” Good start to what appears to be another action filled season for Team NC Baylog.
